Cybersafety Activities:   (Preparation/Support activities)

Volunteers will discuss what it means to be 'cybersafe' with the kids. Have them talk from their own experiences why that is important. Introduce www.nortellearnit.org as a great place for them and their families to visit to learn more about how to be cybersafe.

Preparation: 1-2 employee volunteers are needed to handle A/V setup of the video projector, speaker and laptop for the Cybersafety presentation. Also, they will work (if determined) with a student to download the digital images to a laptop and arrange images into a timeline for presentation via Microsoft MovieMaker.

Time permitting, introduce the topic that not everything you read or see online is  always as it seems. Show a 2nd video from http://nortellearnit.org/technology/Digital_Ethics/ on Misinformation. After viewing, ask students if they have seen sites where that they have questioned their accuracy.
