Preproduction Tools

• Get ready, get set, go! It's the Preproduction planning phase that sets the tone and maps out your plan for successful Career Bytes videos!  Be sure you begin with every member of the team having in hand the Checklist for Video Preproduction Stage.  As you'll see in the following phases, every team member is cooperatively responsible for knowing what's going on and making sure checklist items get carried out. 
• Begin your project using the Brainstorming Worksheet.  Use it in the brainstorming meeting where you'll talk about your theme, people to interview, title, tasks to perform.
• Early on, view:
  • other Career Bytes, using the Checklist for Evaluating Other Videos (media critique) to get ideas on what are good things to include and to do (and vice versa)
  • Nortel LearniT video tutorials on the preproduction phase
  •  Video Shoot Tips & Tricks
• Make sure that everyone knows How to Conduct an Interview 
• The Interview Equipment Checklist is key!  All team members and leaders should use this and have it handy.
• When you meet with the persons you'll interview, get them to sign your version of the Nortel LearniT Release Form (editable so you can change it to fit your group)
